Mineral Wells

 Mineral Wells, a community located along I-77 in Southeastern Wood County, welcomes travelers to their many motels for overnight lodging. But most of these visitors will never see the community lying beyond the hill in Mineral Wells.  

The farms of this area have become housing developments, and the main road is home to many small businesses. The community here has grown and changed with the placement of I-77 past their community.   

Now, many churches, the Mineral Wells Fire Department celebrating 40 years of service to the area, and the large Mineral Wells Elementary School for students P-5^th Grade with 763 students epitomize the growth this area has undergone.    

Mineral Wells is home to the Wood County 4-H Camp celebrating 70 years in this location and the Annual West Virginia Interstate Fair and Exposition.     

A great place to visit is the Coldwater Creek Showroom, an outlet store to their distribution center located here. Coldwater Creek is a mail order and retail store specializing in Women's apparel and accessories.  

In 2000, there were 1860 people, 674 households and 552 families residing in Mineral Wells living in a variety of housing from inexpensive single 3BR 2BA single story homes to upscale 4BR two story homes in Woodridge Plantation, featuring an 18 hole public golf course,   

Another neighborhood community, Windsor Estates,  was first planned with some lots as large as five acres surrounding the homes and a horse trail in the community. No horses have been seen there in many years.  

Currently homes with larger acreage size lots can be found on Price Road and Butcher Bend Road Road.

There were 37 sales in 2009 in Mineral Wells with a median price of $136,000, and an average days on the market of 79.
